Work as an international medical intern in Costa Rica and gain exposure to medical practices and systems in the developing world.
Medical placements are usually at hospitals, clinics, assisted living facilities, and private practices. Medical interns are partnered with local medical professionals and provide daily assistance with their work. Through your internship, you gain valuable skills in diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation. Work may include triage, patient consultations, check-ups, making rounds, elderly care, health education, materials management, and patient records. During your internship, you also increase your medical terminology in Spanish and improve your ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients. As an international medical intern, you build the professional base you need to become a globally-minded medical practitioner.
